Re-Connecting with Brother

Hi Ed,

I recently receive a gift and note from my brother. He writes:

[Name], or Dr. Frankenstein,

Just a small gift for you, in appreciation of your investment of time in my family finances. I really do feel like I have some sort of hands on the helm of my future. Thanks for warmingup and not being a total cool dill!

Your wingman,

The gift unnecessary. The note enough.

System Trading and Discretionary Trading

Hi Chief,

I once ask you whether you are a system trader or a discretionary trader, you tell me that they are the same. I feel confused at that time. Now I start to realize what it means.

When I live the way a trend follower does, I become the system. I practice the trend following in every thing in my life, including relating to my wife, my kids, my parents and co-workers, boss. When those principles ingrain into my being, I start to trade differently. When a man has commitment to his family, his work, he has commitment to trading. They just naturally align with each other, without conscious effort.

In the last Austin Tribe meeting of the 2013 session, I tell the tribe I want to be more active in three areas: be more active to involve into my two children's daily life, more active to find investors, and more active to expand my local tribe.

Recently I notice that I make good progress with the latter two, but not very much on the first. From a week ago I start to spend every afternoon to take my son and daughter to outdoor activities. I am feeling really good by doing so. And I find out this is the really critical thing I do to make me a better trader, or a better man.

To report on the other two promises, my friend is in process to open an account and pretty soon I begin to trade for my first client. I start the meetup group and now a new member join my tribe and attending our first session of meetings in 2014. Another prospect member is in process of application.

There's never a man enables me for such profound changes in my life as you do. I deeply feel grateful for what you do. Sometimes just being with you I can pick up some sparkling wisdom. It's amazing to have you and the tribe in my life.

Workshop Follow-Up

Thank you for your support with my workshop follow up. Thanks also to those who provide comments which I invariably find insightful and helpful.

"Work hard on my trading systems for three hours a day: See what feelings come up. Report monthly to my support team and FAQ."

"Next report 10th January 2013." (I mean "10th January 2014".)

I average 3 hours per day on my trading systems for the last month and 3.1 hours since the workshop. Progress is fairly slow in the first part of the month. I finally bite the bullet and decide to properly fix the code to make it simpler. This involves revamping about 2,000 lines of code. Things are going well since then. I feel a lot less confused and more proactive. Apart from work on FX trading, I also make some small improvements to my current trading system as I come across some minor issues. My system did not signal any changes to positions in the last month.

Several things happen that inspire me:

* I achieve a body composition - low enough body fat - such that I can resume taking some legal supplements that help with my concentration and focus (l-glutamine, creatine, l-tyrosine)***, on 19 December. This provides a large boost and I find progress on all fronts accelerating, better mental acuity and less confusion.

* I have a highly successful hot seat and rocks process, around my feelings when I lose something, which I report to FAQ, "Dec 19, 2013 Rocks Process - Feelings of Loss --> Feeling Lucky". My wife puts this 'cure' to the test by losing my keys, which proves to be happily uneventful.

* New skin: On 21 December I wake up with a strange feeling that my old skin no longer fits. Perhaps this is a delayed reaction to something a friend said "What's happened to you! Are you on steroids?". Somehow my sense of self has shifted so much from the accumulation of changes I have made that I feel like a different person. No longer the old me trying to change but the new me having gone through those changes. This feels really good though hard to describe.

I set my goals for 2014 and review progress for 2013. See at end. I am reasonably happy with progress for 2013 but I want considerably more in 2014.

The spate of minor problems ends; the only exception is my wife needs to have a back tooth out. A few things that could have been problems work out well eg a new version of my data provider software - at first I have concerns, based on past practices, that they will change all the data formats.

My current feeling is that I wake up in the morning brimming with enthusiasm and raring to go. My mood and productivity fall twice when I have minor colds, but otherwise they stay high, especially after 21 December.

Next report 10th February 2014.

Intimacy and Control

The concepts of intimacy and control in relationships continue to fascinate me. I am happy to see the topic being explored in FAQ.

When you say that issues of trust are beliefs about another person's honesty, goodness, reliability and effectiveness, and that control-centric relationships are focused on trust, are you saying that relationships in which trust has not been completely established cannot be intimate?

In other words, can I relate in an intimacy-centric manner even when I know there is a chance the other person will disappoint me? Isn't that simply reality, that I can't expect that another person will never let me down, and I have to choose to go forward (or not) based on my own willingness to risk the consequences?

I want guarantees from my bank. It's their job to do what they promise.

I want willingness to show up from my partner. It's my job to take care of myself.

I would feel happy to hear further discussion of these issues.

Thank you for sharing your process.

You might consider taking your feelings about trust and intimacy to Tribe as an entry point - and then report back on your findings.

Hi Ed

I wanted to tell you about my new book but it seems we are now in competition ;)

Anyway, my book is available from this Amazon link:

It is not wholly about trend following – more trading for beginners –
but I do mention yourself and your website in the book.

I would be very happy to send you a free copy if you are interested.

Look forward to reading yours.

Many thanks

Thank you for sharing your process.

Perhaps you might consider reframing the competition as a cooperation.

John Galt

Hi Ed

Am reading Govopoly I think it's brilliant.

It is written in SVOp which is challenging to get to grips with at first but then it flows along nicely.

May I ask a personal question?

Are you John Galt?

Thank you for your support.

John Galt
a key character in Ayn Rand's

+ 131.44%

Dear Ed:

I wanted to share my trading results. I started managing money and tracking results on July 1, 2013. From July 1, 2013 to year end we were up 65.7% which is an annualized yield of 131.44%.

I am sincerely thankful to the Tribe, and the for the many learning experiences that collective helped me tackle the barriers that prevented me from being successful. As a reference point, I have been trading since 1990 and for the past 22 years my best year was 27%.

From 1990 to 2008, I did not follow a back tested system - I assumed that since I had a high IQ and 2 masters degrees, I would make up a system and it would just work. I felt so confident that I had no need to back test. There was always a good reason why I did not do well.

Timing the market came naturally to me - I don't understand this skill - in the late 80's I started shorting Nikkei close to its top. However, I got out with a small profit and sat out the entire trade. Over and over again I had the same error, being in the right trade at the right time, but never riding my winners and miraculously finding an occasional big looser. Still I felt so confident about my abilities, that I continued to trade on and off and never felt the need to back test.

During 2005-2008 - my personal account had a lot more capital (for reasons unrelated to trading) and suddenly I was trading 2 more zeros. Regardless, I felt so confident and completely forgot about my losers.

In 2007, I had my best year up 27% but this time it was a much larger sum of money - so I felt that I was a great trader and that my non back tested system was superior.

In 2008, I proceeded to loose more money than I had ever lost. At that time I realized I had good entry rules but had no plan to exit my trade.
So that I proceeded to seek out traders and trading system to start developing a "real system". I finally had entry rules and exit rules.

I attended a lot of traders events and took numerous workshops. Now that I was tracking my performance, and had rules, I realized that I was not following my own rules.

This was quite puzzling as I regarded myself as a hardworking, disciplined, successful person. So I tried even harder. But I kept breaking my own rules.
Next, I sought out a variety of trading coaching programs using various methodologies. Still - I could not make a dent.

During this time, I increasingly became a day trader as well. In fact during 2009, my broker (a major US firm) was unable to produce a report because I had more trades than their reporting system could handle.

As a result I was unable to file a proper tax return that year. I shipped off several hundred pages of my orders to the IRS with a summary of my performance. I remember that it cost more than a $100 to make double sided copies of my trades.

The fact that I had become a day traders was also quite puzzling. I did not see myself as a day trader. However, my friends were referred to me as a day traders.

I saw myself as a multi-timeframe trader - day trading, swing trading and position trading both stocks and futures.

During 2008-2011 I worked harder and harder on my system. During that time I also discovered the Trading Tribe.

I started having aha moments. The first aha was that most of the so called teachers in all the trading seminars were in the business of making money from other traders and not from trading themselves.

So they preached all sorts of green light red light systems. When its green buy, when its red sell.

However despite some aha's I was still mostly a day trader and could not stop, When I saw something moving, I just had to enter.
In 2011, I came to the realization that I was addicted to trading. This happened when I looked at my 2008-2010 tax returns. I had lost a lot more money in those 3 days than I made in 2007.

This completely destroyed by story of being successful, How, could I have not known about this? After all I prepared my own tax returns!

I completely stopped trading. As soon as I stopped, the bull market started and all my fellow traders were making lots of money. I was suddenly in a state of depression - if I look back at my life, depression is very rare.
I can only recall being depressed for a few days every decade. All sort of unrelated things went wrong. I remember sleeping an entire weekend. Later my friends would tell me that they were very impressed by the fact, that
I did not turn to alcohol or other substances during this time.

After 6 months in late 2011, I started trading again but with a very small account. For the next year, I was able to turn the corner. It was not easy but I made steady progress.

Then around mid 2012, something just clicked and I gained more confidence. I stopped caring about my results and stuck to the system. I also kept refining the system.

I found what worked for me. I tried to copy Ed at times, but that did not work for me.

Looking back I can say that Ed and The Tribe were the key to my turn around along with supporting family and friends.

I am grateful to Ed and The Tribe for this incredible journey.

Thank you for sharing your process.

Taste and Trust

Dear Ed,

In Jan 2, 2014, On The Path, the contributor writes "...agreements in an intimacy centric relationship use "Taste" while control centric relationships use "Trust".

I wonder if you can expand the concept of trust in a relationship.

Best regards,

Thank you for raising this issue.

Trust refers to a belief in someone's reliability, goodness, honesty, or effectiveness. Control-centric relationships, like the one you have with your bank, typically focus on trust issues and on ways to assure performance.

Taste refers to a small portion of something that you sample to determine if you want more. Intimacy-centric relationships, like the one you have with your wife, may focus on sampling and learning how to please each other.

If you mix these up, you can get some interesting hybrids.

Govopoly as a Possible Marital Aid

Hi Ed,

Your new book arrived today.

My wife bought me the book as a wedding anniversary gift.
I am currently reading it. I think it is great. Reading the overview it struck me as being very Ayn Randian.

I enjoy reading slowly. This allows me to savour your thoughts and writing.

I think I might have found a typo. Please check
Page 61 reads 'Our ancestors use tools, like spear... '
Should that read 'Our ancestors used tools, like spear... '

Thank you for sharing your process.

I have the book in SVOp grammar - all in present tense.

Let me know if and how the book affects your marriage.

Meetup with New Tribe Member

Hi Chief,

Yesterday I host the first meetup and meet a lady. We have a very good talk and I introduce to her how the Rocks Process works and how we run the meetings. She knows a lot about psychology and expresses strong interest. She wants to join our tribe meetings in the coming session. We are starting a new session from mid-Jan.

I have a feel that it might be more possible to find like-minded people and potential new tribe members in social groups relate to personal growth/self growth/spiritual growth/psychology/NLP, rather than in trader's social groups.

I do my best here to extend the Trading Tribe culture in the 39th day. As tribes grow, tribes might be able to assimilate the assimilat-or. |=)

Succeeding More by Doing Less and Staying in the Now

Dear Ed,

My best wishes for the Current year. And lots of hugs to my dear friend and a best guide I ever have in my life. You are very much very important part of my life journey. Never ever I imagine that a fundamental investor like me can learn so much from a trader!

I observe that I nowadays talk less and less and even my friends and their wives observe this.

I think and observe more nowadays. I feel more peaceful. I accept realities more easily. I also accept my limitations. I realize that I am a good investor, not yet a great one! There is so much scope at the personal level.

I do yoga and meditate regularly. Yoga tutor is very happy that I listen more to him! He is ex Merck person who lost faith in traditional treatments. So teaches yoga and meditation. His body is amazingly flexible. I have learned yoga from his daughter in past. Today he tells me about stress and other important matters. Before he comes today, I read Prologue, The Jade Master from The New MW. Last sentence has become very important for me "Months pass. My student interrupts less and less as I continue the story of the Trader's Window." (Thank you so much Ed.)

I remember you many times. MW is on my CPU.

Just read this: The true joy of living lies in the ability to enjoy the present moment.

Made a million again in a v short time. In past I feel elevated. Now no emotions. This feels good! Keeps me balanced.

Last month I have a very meaningful discussion with my daughter and sister. Daughter surprises us by stating "Life is short" I ask for explanation feeling very surprised the way she expresses. She heard about Aston Martin car accident near our house.

This has happened just few meters where she resides with my wife.

I start thinking about her statement and the importance of it. Somehow, immediately I remember you.

My son resides with me. Daughter is also likely to shift in the non existing future! My son wants to meet you! He knows about your interview in MW. He expresses his wish to become a profitable trader. I start teaching him. We have made a trading guide. He loves those rules. They are our essentials. Actually he likes you because he feels that I have become better after my interaction with you by emails! Thanks a million for that. Actually I want to become better and your FAQ has helped a lot.

I meet one other very good investor in a club. He is usually a very silent type. Hardly talks to people. I observe this and remark to him about my observations. At that time I am not aware that he is also into investments. He just smiles. Asks me what I do. I tell him that I am an investor. I do google search on him and realize that he manages big amounts. Has few % stakes in listed companies. Nobody in the club know this. I realize that he learns a lot by observing. We have become good friends. He maintains his regular silence. I remember you: Everybody gets what they want!, We play TT together but do not talk about investing. Even during the game he neither feels great when he wins nor feels down when he loses. This suits his personality. I observe this.

Thanks to you, I am becoming better listener.

During seventies and early eighties in school I stand first by studying hard. But I now know that what I learn from you is also so much useful and practical. I would like to acknowledge my heartfelt thanks to Warren, Charlie, P Lynch, P Fisher, Jack Schwager for introducing me to Ed through his book and of course you.

Yes Ed I love you. I am happy to express this feeling just now.

I also feel lucky to have best tutors throughout my life. I am grateful to all of them.

New Year Commitments

Dear Mr. Seykota,

I wish you and your family a happy, healthy and prosperous year 2014!

Thank you for your great contributions to help all of us not only in regard to the business of trend-trading but especially in helping to attain right livelihood.

My commitments for the new year are spending more time with my family, the Essential Tribe, trading some good trending markets, as there are some every year and writing a book about some insights life has taught me and of which I think they would be helpful for everybody.

Kind regards from Germany,

Thank you for sharing your process.

More on "To Be"

It's been a long time since I attended school so I had to look up what the verb 'to be' means.

The 'to be' re-writing sentence examples you give on Dec 27 are much more expressive and more expressive of feelings. I especially appreciated the re-writing of the sentences 'The food is on the table,' and 'I am working.' I can visualize potential arguments, misunderstandings and hurt feelings on those statements made in the 'to be' form. When the sentences are re-stated expressing feelings, I can understand the feelings behind the statements. When I understand the feelings, there is less of a potential for arguments, misunderstandings and hurt feelings.

It makes sense. Good job.

Thank you for sharing your observations.

TTP Extensions

Hi Ed,

Thank you for publishing TTP Extensions and for making [it] available free of charge. I appreciate that you share your experiences and take the time to write stories.

I notice I am using the DIM method medicinally to make feelings disappear so I don't fully experience feelings: I youtube meditative drumming and drum along; I get really into drumming; I feel very disconnected drumming with youtube videos.

I am feeling tightness in the back of my neck, the top of my left forearm itches, and my left side itches.

Thank you,

Thank you for your support and for sharing your process.

TT Workshop Report

Dear Support Team,

First of all, here's wishing you all a very Happy New Year and all the best for 2014!

I intend to be one day late with this update.

I feel like I am in a consolidating phase with regard to my Workshop Project, in a sort of pennant formation.

I continue to give priority to health, family, and work.

I specifically make a lot of progress with regard to moving closer to Right Livelihood in my "work."

In my last update, I share that I am formally offered a promotion at work, which in this case, is an offer to join the "Partnership" at our consulting firm.

While considering the offer, I realize that I can be of far greater service to others if I use the knowledge and experience I've gained during the course of my career outside the structure and confines of the firm I currently work in. I want to work only on projects that I truly believe in, that add meaningful value to the people of the world, and that are in line with Right Livelihood. I feel this is not always the case, in a broader context, with regard to the work that I currently do - and I feel like I'm ready to make the change.

So during the course of December, instead of accepting the promotion, I follow my heart and hand in my notice of resignation. I am decisive and open in my communications with the Partners, and the process of my moving on from the firm actually proceeds quite smoothly, once the initial resistance from the Partners is overcome. Breakout!

I feel like I'm on way to Right Livelihood in every aspect of my life now. I feel there is nothing that is "urgent" / "un-important" occupying my time anymore. I feel like I'm giving myself the greatest gift by exercising the freedom to choose exactly how I spend my time and use all that I've learned to best serve others - as well as prioritize the time for health and family consistently. The support from my wife is also tremendous, and I feel like we're a team on this like never before.

I feel excited, confident, scared, curious, eager, energized, all at once!

I phrase the intention for my new venture as: "We help realize innovative Life Sciences solutions that deliver a meaningful impact to the people of the world". (I currently work as a consultant within the Life Sciences Industry). I just have to secure the first "launching" project, but am confident that there is more work to do out there than time to do it in. I'm looking forward to every minute of it!

Given this development, I have also decided not build an asset management business serving investors for the time being, and instead, focus on finalizing my system for trading a portion of our own (family) risk capital only. Of course, this simplifies my TTP Workshop project considerably as things like Managed Account Platforms and Legal Agreements for Investors drop off. I intend to revert back with a revised Project Plan in my February 1st update, including final dates for completion.

Thank you once again for being a part of my support team. I find the process, as well as your feedback and encouragement, invaluable.

Thank you for sharing your process.

On the Path

Back home for the holidays I enjoy spending time with my family. So far I fail to spend time with my parents, and conveniently avoid the opportunity to share feelings with my father using the weather as excuse. I feel uneasy, scared not about sharing feelings with my father but with his reaction. The last time I share feelings with him he projects emotional distance and I remember shutting down. I feel grateful I pack my heart rock.

Earlier in the month I share with my friend issues related to the emotionally distant relationship I have with my father and issues in my relationship with my wife (Incommunicado Wife). In his email he states I may consider letting my wife know that my infidelities have nothing to do with her. When I first read this it does not make sense, but like many things the true meaning comes to me later on.

When I arrive home I feel frustrated, I feel an overwhelming need to nag and complain and I wonder what triggers this. I hate the environment of my Chicago neighborhood and feel drained by the way my apartment looks. I quickly assign blame to my wife, but I soon notice the reoccurring pattern of covering up my true feelings with drama. The frustration continues, something prompts me to check my wife's phone.

I find evidence of lies and infidelity. Truthfully I am initially relieved. After I confess my infidelity weeks ago I have a feeling of wanting to be hurt too. I get my wish.

I decide to share my feelings about what I find in her phone with my wife. At first she expresses disappointment and slight anger for me reading her text messages to her close friend. I feel surprised that I feel calm and relaxed. I receive her as best I can and I feel I create a space for her to feel vulnerable. She shares how deeply I hurt her, how even though she did not know of my infidelities she felt them. She got to a place where she didn't care. The other man gives her a feeling of security.

I remember [your] statement that agreements in an intimacy centric relationship use "Taste" while control centric relationships use "Trust". I test for her willingness to continue our marriage monogamously. She agrees. I want to share that all the while during this difficult emotional exchange we lie in bed embracing. I feel warm and happy when I think back on it.

I feel hurt, disgusted, sad, angry when I think of her infidelity. But I can't help but think I feel the same way in relation to my father.

I express to my wife my cheating has nothing to do with her. My cheating reflects my feelings of self worth. I see a clear pattern. I have relationship with sweet caring and loving woman. I feel I don't deserve this, I learn this through my interactions with my parents and more so through my father.

I then create drama through infidelity to get back to facing a feeling I run from. Not feeling worthy, feeling worthless, not tall enough, not good looking enough, not smart enough, not man enough, not having enough to provide financially, not projecting security.

I feel closer to getting the root of a lot of the seemingly unrelated dramas in my life and feel a sense of accomplishment. I look forward to feeling more in 2014.

Thank you Ed and Friend.

Thank you for sharing your process - and for your courage to observe and express your feelings.

More Body Map see previous

Dear Ed,

Thanks for paying close attention to the graphic about how emotions are felt in the body.

In response to your observation about the difference between happiness and love, I believe that happiness engages the whole body in an expressive way: for instance, "jumping for joy". We experience energy in our arms and legs that urges us to move and interact with our surroundings to express our happiness through our bodies.

Love, perhaps, creates a more intimate, connecting kind of experience in the body, where our desire to be warm and close is felt in our core and in our mind. If I imagine the embrace of my beloved, I feel a connection in exactly the spots indicated in the graphic, and my arms and legs are not as central to the experience, though they may facilitate the closeness by helping me to bring my body closer to the body of my beloved.

Interestingly to me, when I participate in a Breathwork experience this past fall, I draw a mandala afterwards that depicts my body with glowing yellow energy in exactly the same places as the graphic for "love", and I write below the drawing, "I am not alone".

Thank you for the opportunity to expand on these feelings.

Thank you for sharing your insights.

I was looking online for a mentor to teach me about trading and I came across your name on a blog post from I also noticed you have a Tribe in Austin Texas....that's where I currently live. Just wondering what I need to do to get started? How much does it cost if anything?

Thank you!

Thank you for raising this issue.

You may attend Tribe Meetings for free, unless you want to kick something in for pizza.

To get up to speed, you can read through FAQ, read The Trading Tribe and/or attend a Workshop. See Resources, above for more information.

Feeling Disgust see previous

Dear Mr. Seykota,

I see you can use even the hard core Govopolistic trick to always stay on the top of the game. You are not ashamed to change your postings after readers reacted to them.

Here IS the evidence of your cheating:

1) My posting from 12/29 about the real meaning and the need of the verb -b:

thank you for elucidating SVOp-b style in your posting from 12/27. I understand that SVOp-b helps to tell some things with more clarity, responsibility and liveliness.

In mathematics the equal sign relates 2 sides of the equation, so it does not have the proper meaning of the verb "to be", which is to tell that ONE thing exists or not.

But in physics you need the verb "to be" in its proper sense to communicate its findings. I can´t imagine that by using SVOp-b you could better formulate the findings of physics that "Time is relative", "There is no absolute space" and "The matter is energy".

Your published reaction then:

Thank you for extending this issue.

Consider pouring water into a glass at rate, R to get a volume, V.

Standard textbook physics has: R = d(V)dt implying the change in the volume somehow "causes" the flow rate. This goes opposite to common human experience in which the flow rate "causes" the volume to change.
You can straighten this out by fomulating physics in System Dynamics terms and then solving a set of equation that make sense, one small step at a time, always staying in the now. Per your physics findings in English, you may like to consider that in SVOp-b they reveal their inherent ambiguities. To remove these ambiguities you might have to further clarify your thinking.
To test this hypothesis, you might consider trying out "The matter is energy" on a 7-year old to see if he has a clue what you mean. Then re-write in SVOP-b and try again.
When you get the language of physics straight, you might consider having a go at ecomomics.

2) My answer on 12/30:

I guess a 7-year old will rather understand that "Matter is energy" than your reasons for a misplaced lecturing on the causal ambiguity of your favorite physical phenomena.

Your reaction published then:

Thank you for sharing your proces.
As I recall, this thread begins with your question about how SVOP works.
You might consider taking your feelings about "misplaced lecturing" to Tribe as an entry point.

After my reactions to your postings you changed their texts and on 1/1 they read as follows:

Thank you for extending this issue.

Consider pouring water into a glass at rate, R to get a volume, V.

This standard physics equation implies the change in the volume somehow "causes" the flow rate. R = d(V)/dt.

This goes opposite to common human experience. In SVOp we have: The volume of water in the glass increases as water flows into it.

Per using "to be" in physics, you might find that re-casting to SVOp-b reveals inherent ambiguities.

To test this hypothesis, you might consider trying out "The matter is energy." on a 7-year old to see if he understands your meaning. Then re-write in SVOp-b and try again.

When you get physics in SVOp, you might consider having a go at economics.

Ad 2)

Thank you for sharing your process.

As I recall, this thread begins with your question about how SVOp works. I wonder if you can further explain what you mean by:

1. Matter is energy (or)
2. Misplaced Lecturing

Meanwhile, you might consider taking your feelings about <misplaced lecturing> to Tribe as an entry point.

With disgust

Thank you for sharing your process and your feelings.

If you can recall finding yourself in any similar situations, with similar feelings, you might consider taking your feelings of <disgust> to Tribe as an entry point. In Tribe we practice intimacy-centric, alliance relating as an alternative to control-centric adversarial relating.

Happy Now

Whatever the calendar you use to situate the date, may be the Gregorian or the Mayan or the hegiran or whatever you want, HAPPY NOW !! I wish you the best for NOW!!

However, whatever I may wish you, you might consider that Intention is not a wish nor a promise. Intention = result. To intend means "to arrange the structure in such a way to favor producing a result" as you teach us. So it's up to you for your best wishes.

HAPPY NOW great teacher!!!

Thank you for your wishes and support.

Govopoly Review

Easy Ed,

Congratulations on publishing your informative work, after so many years of preparation.

I read it over the recent holidays and can now say; Wow ! You have provided people with a 'map' to help them fully understand what is happening, as it happens. The info is a great gift of critical knowledge to all... Prof. Forrester is absolutely right - and your book should also be required reading for students, to help them prepare for life's many obstacles and so they will recognise opportunities to offset and benefit from these situations as well.

You might also like to quickly watch the below video (before the Govopoly takes it off ...)

Kind regards,

PS: It's quite interesting that you chose one complete cycle for the number of pages and how you very subtly intertwined major trading principals, system design and various other subjects and ideas, throughout the text and pictures. It is a wonderful and easy to understand aha book, and you are to be truly commended on this accomplishment.

Thank you for your support.

In Govopoly, I take the position that Assimilation transcends political parties. I do not advocate taking sides with one party or another.

Body Mapping

Dear Ed,

I sometimes struggle to understand the connection between emotion and "feeling in the body" as described in TTP. I feel that they are closely related and that the language we use to describe our experience might best flow back and forth between the two.

Today I see this article about a study which captures the concepts in striking visual form. The graphic reflects the colors that study participants use to describe the way their bodies feel when experiencing a particular emotion. "Warm" colors indicate a stronger experience of sensation in that area of the body, while "cool" colors indicate a diminished sensation.

It's a neat way to demonstrate the notion of feelings in the body to those of us who don't make the connection that easily at first.

Thank you for sharing your process and the link.

In TTP we generally go beyond strong and weak and identify forms with considerable specificity.

I wonder how, in the picture, happiness gives you warmer legs than does love.
